Popular Retailer Shuts Down 540 Stores

Rue21, a well-known national retailer with 540 stores in malls across the U.S., is closing its doors due to retail challenges, COVID-19 policies, and economic factors.

The clothing chain, headquartered in Warrendale, Pennsylvania, is filing for bankruptcy after four decades in the industry. 

Substantial discounts

As part of the closure, Rue21 will provide substantial discounts on remaining stock, starting at 20% to 50% off retail prices and possibly reaching up to 90% until stock is depleted.
