Regina Kay Walters was a 14 year old girl who was murdered in 1990 by the Truck Stop Killer, Robert Ben Rhoades. Walters, a runaway, had been traveling with her boyfriend, Ricky Lee Jones, when Rhoades abducted them both. Rhoades killed Jones and kept Walters captive for a period of time, over which he tortured and assaulted her repeatedly. He took these photographs of the girl in an abandoned farmhouse where her body was found, shortly before he killed her. Rhoades had shaved her head, and forced her into an ill-fitting black dress and heels. The chilling photograph above is one of several taken of Regina, her eyes filled with fear and disgust and her once-flowing hair shorn into a disheveled mess, are a chilling testimony to the gruesome reality she faced.

A Chilling Message From The Lipstick Killer

The 1950s was a time of fear and uncertainty in Chicago.
