During their performance at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 18, Pearl Jam's lead singer Eddie Vedder seized the opportunity to criticize Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker for his controversial remarks during a commencement speech at Benedictine College.

Butker faced severe backlash for his comments, which included derogatory remarks about Pride Month and his belief that women should primarily be homemakers.

Vedder, during a break between songs at the Pearl Jam concert in Vegas, encouraged the audience to applaud the opening act, indie rock band Deep See Diver, highlighting the female members of the band, including the lead singer.
