According to one activist and former inmate, Amie Ichikawa, California women's prisons are now allowing biological men who identify as non-binary or transgender to be housed there.

Ichikawa, a women's rights advocate who was previously incarcerated at the Central California Women's Facility (CCWF), shared concerns with Fox News about how California laws are being manipulated by biological men claiming to be transgender. She believes that this situation is leading to what she describes as "cruel and unusual punishment" for the biological women in California's prisons.
